xTras is a new approach to offer activities, worship and social interaction to young parents and carers. The format has been developed to meet the needs of regular church attenders, but also to offer a 'church' experience, without the formal and intimidating nature of regular services.

The project has been set up by Winton Salvation Army and runs once a month for a few hours, early evening. Key elements during these meeting are a social activity based element, where children can engage in an activity, parents and carers can assist or use the time for social interaction. This is then followed by a themed informal worship time before a group meal is provided.

xTras has the strap line of 'Don't do Church - think again!'. This project aims to bring church to the community in a way and format that is accessible to this community, using technology, interaction and relevant activities.
